Yin Yoga and Mindfulness
Service Description
All classes focus on Yin and Restorative Yoga. This is a form of Yoga that allows the body to release tightness on its own as we relax into a posture. Yin is all about stretching the connective tissue, fascia, ligaments and tendons in a gentle and grounded way. Asanas are held for a prolonged length of time (3 to 8 mins) to allow the body to release and the connective tissue to lengthen. This form of Yoga is amazing for chronic aches and pains, stuck emotions and opening the joints so is especially good for arthritis and problems within the joints and fascia. Each session also includes Restorative asanas where we allow the mind and nervous system to relax. Each asana is held for 5 mins or more to allow us to really relax into them...the body is supported throughout with cushions and bolsters allowing the body to release and a sense of peace and ease to be obtained. Each session also features a savasana at the end which is a mindful guided meditation encouraging the mind to quiet and empty as we allow thoughts and feelings to float by. The meditation allows us to move fully into a sense of peace and connection and go about our day or evening in a peaceful and relaxed state.
